Skybox — Brand in action

The business challenge

Stand out. Make prevention tangible.

Skybox wanted to stand out in a crowded cybersecurity market. Its messaging was shifting from reacting to cyberattacks toward preventing them by identifying vulnerabilities. The brand needed to help CISOs and security leaders understand the value of prevention and the cost of an attack.

Make the concept practical.

An agency provided the high-level visual concept. As Art Director and the sole in-house designer, I developed the brand book, typography rules, photography guidelines, and templates needed to bring that direction to market. I worked with the VP of Corporate Marketing and Web Marketing Manager to connect the visuals with the messaging and keep the launch moving.

The creative approach

Distinctive visuals. A usable system.

The challenge was to support a complex, serious message with abstract visuals that felt distinctive. I focused on a visual approach that could be applied consistently across the marketing team’s work.

01

Make photography distinctive

Apply graphic treatments to stock photography to give it a recognizable brand expression.

02

Balance boldness and restraint

Use a bold palette with enough control to support a serious cybersecurity message.

03

Define how it all works

Document typography and image treatments, then build templates that make the system practical.

02 — Brand book

Brand Book · Took a high-level concept and brought it to market.

03 — Photography treatments

Photography · Made each photograph & image feel uniquely Skybox.

Bringing the brand to market

One direction, across channels.

I designed the website pages and imagery, then handed the files to the Web Marketing Manager for publication. We worked together on the website’s design system, while I partnered with the VP of Corporate Marketing on visuals that supported the messaging.

04 — Website design

A cohesive web experience connecting product storytelling, distinctive imagery, and a shared visual system.

05 — Thought leadership

Bold imagery with clear layouts to make complex topics easier to navigate.

06 — Data sheets

Reusable layouts bringing consistency to sales materials.

Practical impact

A brand the team could deliver.

The templates and guidelines improved production speed, helping a marketing organization with one designer deliver work without ongoing external agency support.

Own the direction. Deliver the work.

I owned the design work through a six-month sprint, balancing deadlines with executive feedback and keeping the rollout on track. This project reflects my ability to turn a high-level concept into an executable system and bring it to market across channels.
